Red Sneaker Day Spotlight: Kaitlyn Baumbach

Red Sneaker Days provides a “day” when everyone wears their red sneakers/shoes (or anything red) and participates together to raise awareness for the dangers of food allergies. The goal is not only to increase education and awareness to the communities of those suffering with food allergies, but just as importantly, to educate those who are not directly affected by them.

Kaitlyn is a Red Sneaker Ambassador. She hosted two Red Sneaker Days at her high school to help spread food allergy awareness. Thank you, Kaitlyn, for educating your school on how to keep those with food allergies safe!

“I presented a food allergy awareness presentation to the sophomore health classes. This included eight different classes over a period of two days. The presentation included important information on food allergies (signs and symptoms, how to use an epipen, etc.) as well as what the students could do to help make school safer for those with food allergies (cleaning off desks after eating, washing hands, etc.)”
