Red Sneaker Day Spotlight: Sea Girt

Red Sneaker Days provides a “day” when everyone wears their red sneakers/shoes (or anything red) and participates together to raise awareness for the dangers of food allergies. The goal is not only to increase education and awareness to the communities of those suffering with food allergies, but just as importantly, to educate those who are not directly affected by them.

Sea Girt Elementary School hosts a Red Sneaker Day every year for International Red Sneakers Day! With some help from the school nurse, the school’s administration team and staff, and the parents, Sea Girt raises food allergy awareness for everyone in the town. Sea Girt Elementary students and staff bought RSFO shirts to wear for the day and completed some food allergy awareness activities in class. Then the students lead a Food Allergy Awareness March around the school.
