Red Sneaker Day Spotlight: Ryleigh and Grace

Red Sneaker Days provides a “day” when everyone wears their red sneakers/shoes (or anything red) and participates together to raise awareness for the dangers of food allergies. The goal is not only to increase education and awareness to the communities of those suffering with food allergies, but just as importantly, to educate those who are not directly affected by them.

Ryleigh and Grace are Red Sneaker Ambassadors and Girl Scout members of Troop #32057. These food allergy advocates have developed a food allergy awareness program for Girl Scouts across America!

The program has five requirements:

1. Learn about food allergies

2. Learn when to seek help and what to do if an allergic reaction occurs

3. Protect a person with food allergies

4. Support a friend with food allergies

5. Try spending a day in the life of a person with a food allergy

If you are a Girl Scout, you can earn your badge for food allergy awareness! You can learn how to participate in the program by clicking this link here… Food Allergy Program

Participant fee is $15 plus shipping. The fee includes a supply kit that contains glow-in-the-dark powder with UV led light keychain, doll-sized EpiPen (does NOT contain medicine or a needle), and a GS-created board game called A Day in the Life with a Food Allergy. Patches are also available for $3 plus shipping.
