Staying Safe at School

Back-to-school can be stressful

Try the following and see if they help you feel more confident:

  • Find out where your kid's lunch pack will be kept

  • Ask where your child will eat

  • Inquire about who will supervise lunch time and snack time

  • Find out where the epinephrine will be kept and who will administer, if needed

  • Encourage school to train and educate their staff about how kids describe allergic reactions; children may not be able to explain in proper terms

  • Ask teachers to avoid using food items as rewards in the classroom

  • Help the teacher by listing out foods your child is allergic to
