Red Sneaker Day Spotlight: Hemali Gauri

Red Sneaker Days provides a “day” when everyone wears their red sneakers/shoes (or anything red) and participates together to raise awareness for the dangers of food allergies. The goal is not only to increase education and awareness to the communities of those suffering with food allergies, but just as importantly, to educate those who are not directly affected by them.

Hemali is a Red Sneaker Ambassador from Arkansas, USA. With the help of some of her friends and food allergy advocates, Hemali hosted a Food Allergy Awareness Fundraiser at her high school to help spread Red Sneakers for Oakley’s mission. Hemali sold the RSFO Red Sneaker Keychains at her school and hosted a Teal & Red-Sneaker Day for the final day of the fundraiser.

The food allergy advocates even got their teachers involved to help spread the word about their fundraiser! They used this photo of their Calculus and Biology teachers with the Red Sneaker Keychain to promote the fundraiser at their school. They were able to raise $205 to donate to Red Sneakers for Oakley!
