Red Sneaker Day Spotlight: Leidy Serrano

Red Sneaker Days provides a “day” when everyone wears their red sneakers/shoes (or anything red) and participates together to raise awareness for the dangers of food allergies. The goal is not only to increase education and awareness to the communities of those suffering with food allergies, but just as importantly, to educate those who are not directly affected by them.

Leidy is a RSFO Ambassador with twin daughters in elementary school, one of which has food allergies. Leidy teamed up with the school PTA to celebrate Food Allergy Awareness Week in order to bring more food allergy awareness to her daughters’ school. Each day of Food Allergy Awareness Week was a different theme related to food allergy education and awareness. On Thursday, everyone wore red, received a RSFO wristband and received a RSFO “Symptoms of Anaphylaxis” card. Thank you, Serrano Family, for being food allergy advocates at your school!!
